FHS World 2024 brought together leaders from across the hospitality industry, providing a valuable platform for policymakers, investors, and experts to discuss key themes such as Real Estate Hotelisation, Sustainable Construction, and Technology & Innovation.
MFMC took centre stage at the main country platform during the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) 2024, proudly representing the Maldives with a showcase of the nation’s distinctive hospitality projects under the theme ‘Building the Future: The Changing Face of Market and Investor Growth in The Maldives’. This session focused on exciting opportunities within the sector, featuring prominent speakers such as Eezan Shahul Hameed, Chief Commercial Officer of MFMC, alongside esteemed guests; Amman Shah, Executive Director of Dubai Holdings Investment; Tony Miki, Partner at Foster and Partners; and Majd Hamamouchi, Corporate Business Development Director of TIME Hotels. Ahmed Nazim, Managing Director of MFMC, was also a part of the advisory board at FHS, further solidifying MFMC’s strategic involvement in shaping the conversation at this prestigious event.
In addition to that, MFMC actively participated in several panel discussions, providing valuable insights alongside guest speakers on key topics, including, ‘New Horizons Ahead: Trends and Developments in Tomorrow’s Designs’ and ‘Branded Residences: A New Era in Real Estate Investment’.
MFMC showcased several exciting initiatives, including the Gaafaru Integrated Tourism Development Project, Hankede Integrated Tourism Development Project, Addu Nature Park, and Dhiyaneru Marina Development Project. These projects attracted interest from numerous global leaders in hospitality and finance, who are eager to explore investment opportunities within them.
Furthermore, in the newly launched – dedicated Country Pavilions at FHS WORLD 2024, MFMC represented the beauty of Maldivian culture and heritage, sharing not only the local craftsmanship but the taste and delicacies of the beautiful island nation. MFMC was highly praised for their representation of Maldives, as many attendees of the summit’s shared their interest in various aspects of the country. MFMC also introduced an immersive experience of their project - Hankede Integrated Tourism Development Project as the corporation brought this ambitious vision to life via a 3D Interactive screen of Hankede’s design set up at the pavilion.
On the sidelines of the summit, MFMC signed with 2 esteemed hotel brands to manage and operate their hotel properties under the Hankede Integrated Tourism Development Project. This project was initiated to elevate the southernmost atoll of Maldives - Addu Atoll – to a premier tourist destination. One of the partnerships included a contract signed by Mr. Ahmed Nazim, Managing Director of MFMC alongside Mr. Mohamed Awadalla, CEO of TIME Hotels to manage and operate a Grand Hotel of 150 keys and 8 storeys and one Deluxe Hotel of 75 keys and 6 storeys. In addition to that Mr. Ahmed Nazim also signed with Mr. Grant Johnathan Healy, CEO of Conduit House in an agreement to manage and operate several Grand Hotels, Deluxe Hotels as well as Boutique Hotels in Hankede. Following the agreement, both Conduit House and TIME Hotels expressed their pleasure to expand into the region.
MFMC’s presence at the summit played a crucial role in their continuous effort to promote the investment opportunities in the Maldives and underscored the country’s attractiveness as a destination. FHSWorld 2024 shined a global spotlight upon MFMC and aligned with its corporate objectives to further the country's economic development and shape the future of global tourism through innovation, sustainability, and strategic investments.
